101 years of history
Formed in New Zealand as a blacksmith and repair shop in 1923 by Herbert Taege, Taege Engineering emerged from its locally grown roots into a market leading
agricultural engineering company specializing in providing the New Zealand agricultural industry with innovative machinery solutions demanded by
New Zealand's farmers and contractors.
Having developed their own proven patented angle-mounted vibrating tyne and tungsten faced tip system on all their ground engaging machines, they
know that their agricultural equipment produces the best results in most conditions.
Taege's range of products now include specialized seed drills for pasture renovation and cropping farms, cultivators, tyre rollers, post drivers
and custom builds as well as a range of upgrade options to suit any individual situation or terrain.
Now owned and operated by Keith Taege, Taege Engineering employs a dedicated and hardworking team of engineers and support staff in New Zealand's Sheffield and Canterbury with an assembly plant in Christchurch.
Today, Taege products are now available for distribution to UK farms thanks to the vision of UK Farm Agri.
Something for Everyone
Tilth Grows Seed! Exceptional contour following for superior germination. Built on the proven Taege Cultivator base, our Taege Air Seeders are competitively priced and offer great value. Taege drills perform well in hard, rough, and challenging conditions and are perfectly matched on either pasture or cultivated land.
All models have a computerised electronic metering system as standard so Taege Air Seeders can provide farmers and contractors with fast, easy, accurate and adjustable calibration without the risk of seed damage.
The shape of the boot drops fertiliser slightly deeper down the front tube, followed by seed in the second - this allows the seed roots to travel down into the fert and tilth, giving it the best start possible. A unique design feature uses heat exchanged from the oil cooler to create warm air for seed pickup, helping to reduce problems when seeding in damp conditions.
All Taege Air Seeders come with:
Taege Direct Drills are easy and effective to use, with simple calibration, electronic metering and few moving parts. Our flexible tyne and tungsten faced tips provide excellent penetration in extremely tough conditions, achiving optimum soil to seed contact every time for superior germination rates.
Standard fitted equipment on all Taege drills include:
Taege trailing and fully floating cultivators are a revelation in tillage. Taege have taken their patented angled “S” tyne and placed it into a robust unit that allows full penetration across the whole working width, even on undulating country. Taege cultivators excel in heavy trash conditions, with 4 and a half rows of tynes and 590mm of tyne stagger allowing trash to easily pass through the unit.
The flexible vibrating nature of the “S” tynes not only breaks up hard cloddy ground, but allows Taege cultivators to handle some of the most arduous conditions including extremely rock riddled paddocks. Operating depth is set hydraulically and tynes are spaced evenly across the working width at 122mm ensuring all ground is disturbed and the patented Taege following harrows level the seed bed perfectly for sowing.

Using a tyre roller can improve your seed strike rate with better seed to soil contact, moisture retention and compaction – this is what Taege is all about! Designed to work directly behind your Seeder, the Taege range of Tyre Rollers follows contours and eliminates the ‘bow wave’ in cultivated soil with offset independent tyres on pivoting tandem axles.
All Taege Seeders come with a draw bar to fit a Tyre Roller.
All Taege Tyre Rollers come standard with:
Taege's M3 Hoppers have a universal base system giving farmers the the tremendous flexibility to use the M3 Metering system on any of their equipment (not just items with a Taege label) making the possibilities endless whether it be a power harrow, rotary hoe, tyre roller or whatever is needed. There is a Broadcast delivery system for small seed, slug bait, granules and pellets, with options for gravity, electric air assist or full air seed dispersal. Taege Hoppers really provide the ultimate solution. View Product Range
